The Utah Group
So here’s our first post on the family blog. We haven’t done anything big lately to tell you about, but I can update you on our lives…..
Chris just started a new job doing Tech Support for Dell computers. He is still in training which consists of his boss pointing out important aspects of a computer, such as the keyboard, and then telling funny stories. Not too bad to bare when getting paid for it. The down side is that he has to be there at 6:00 AM every morning. He handles much better than I do when I have to be at the hospital at 5:45 for clinicals. Hopefully once training is done he can change his schedule. Chris recently had a birthday, a big 24 years. He says he actually feels old because he is in the “mid-twenties” category now. We went to see Transformers for his birthday and to eat at one of his favorite places, Wingers.
I am still working night shifts at the hospital on the cardiovascular unit. I recently took the state boards to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and passed! I studied hard for it and was excited that I passed because half of my questions dealt with medications I never heard of! I am debating looking for a new job now that I have my LPN. I don’t love my job now (an understatement), but I am not sure I will find a new one that works as well with my schedule. Since I have had more free time this summer than I have had since 8th grade, I chose to spend it becoming obsessed with TLC shows, like “Little People, Big World” and “What Not to Wear.” School starts in just over a week, and I’m getting slightly depressed.
Thunder is doing fine and getting quite fat. He enjoys sleeping on top of cabinets, eating yogurt, sleeping in the bathtub, playing fetch, and sleeping in the bathroom sink. Yesterday we took him to the park. We do put a leash on him, even though he has never tried to run from us when we take him outside, but just in case. Of course he refuses to walk when the leash is on, so we have to carry him everywhere. At the park a very large black man was so amazed at how much of a “good looking cat” he was, he planted a big wet kiss right on his head. Luckily, Thunder didn’t seem to mind. It was a little weird for Chris, who had Thunder on his lap at the time.

Happy Birthday Chris!!
Yesterday was my brother's birthday. He is such a good brother to me. We used to fight when we were younger, but we don't anymore, and I am so proud to call him my brother. He is super smart, works hard, is a great uncle, and married a wonderful person. The only thing I would change is that he likes PCs and can't stand Macs. What?
Happy Birthday Chris.
I love you!
